My research interests generally focus on mammalian behaviour and rehabilitation-related wildlife conservation, but have interests in herpetological studies and broader wildlife work as well. I am currently researching phylogenomics of cave bears and evidence of sex-biased admixture for my postgraduate research, and have previously studied viviparous lizard morphological colouration for my undergraduate thesis. My interests in wildlife rehabilitation and conservation stem from my time studying at The Worlds Leading Wildlife Hospital, Tiggywinkles, and have been further reinforced by my recent Sun Bear Assistant placement position at The Bornean Sun Bear Conservation centre (BSBCC).
Amelia is currently in a Postgraduate Researcher position (Masters by Research/MScRes) at Bangor University looking into phylogenomics of European cave bears and evidence of sex-biased admixture, with Dr Axel Barlow. She started her Bachelor's degree in Zoology with Animal Behaviour in 2021 at Bangor University, with her Bachelor's thesis project studying viviparous lizard morphological colouration and subsequent behaviour, with Dr James Hicks. This followed from two years of study at the world's leading wildlife hospital, St Tiggywinkles, in conjunction with Buckinghamshire College Group. Amelia has additionally spent time at The Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, working directly with Ursids in a Sun Bear Assistant role alongside founder Dr Wong Siew Te.
